BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or "BJJ", is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling with an emphasis on ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit.

Jiu-Jitsu, meaning “the gentle art”, earned its name because it uses submission positions to control an opponent instead of striking methods. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant.

Jiu Jitsu and Coffee!!! Siege MMA offers early morning BJJ 6 AM training sessions! Classes will be on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Instruction given by Professor Jesus Jose!!

For all you working professionals!! Class availability is huge for us here at Siege MMA!! Check out our lunch hour BJJ training sessions at 11 AM every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Instruction  given by brown belt Tony Nolan!!

no-gi Brazilian JIu-Jitsu

No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (also referred to as "Submission Wrestling") is simply Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without the gi (traditional Jiu-Jitsu uniform). Generally, grappling shorts or board style shorts are worn with a t-shirt or rash guard shirt.  As with Gi Jiu-Jitsu, the goal of No-Gi BJJ is to gain a dominant position and by using a submission technique to cause the opponent to submit or "tap out". There are No-Gi tournaments all over the world and many people enjoy the realism of competing in normal clothing.

Check out our No-Gi 9 AM morning sessions with brown belt instructor Noah Briggs. Class availability will be Tuesday and Thursday's at 9am!!

No-Gi evening classes will be taught by professor Santino Defranco. Class availability will be Monday through Thursday at 5:30pm!!

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be trained for self defense, sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition. Sparring in class (commonly referred to as "rolling"), live drills and conditioning play a major role in training. The Siege Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is associated with the much respected "One Jiu-Jitsu" affiliation under Master Giva Santana.
